Default How Wide

Hi There. New to this site. I have a 96 FXDL. Sweek bike. Bought it off my father in law 2 months ago. Only 550 miles! Bike is like brand new. My Question is when I change the rear tire what is the widest I can go w/out any changes. I've heard 150,160. I dont want to go with a kit as I do not want to de-value the bike. As you can see its in mint shape. I've changed out the seat and added some chrome. I am going from the V & H 2-1 to the big radius this week but that shoud do it!

Hi there and a big welcome to the Forum from New Zealand, enjoy!! [sm=welcomesign.gif]
Customise to your hearts content, the only thing that devalues a Harley is not looking after it or totalling it, LOL

The EVOs come out with 130mm rear standard (sorry about the metric measurements, not sure what it is in your language ) The widest you can go without any mods is 140mm. Cheapest way to go wider is to put a chain on it.

All passenger car tires and most truck tires in the US are measured using the P-metric system. About 90% of off road truck tires are measured in inches from 27" up to 49" for DOT-approved tires. Not sure if there are any stragglers left in motorcycle tires. All that I see are also P-metric.

So, we do know what yer talking about.
