Kick Back
Well I had what they call a kick back when starting. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I fueled her up hit the starter and it dosn't catch hit again and pow. Smoke through the aircleaner it was a something to see. Women and children running for cover. I tell you, I though I had fried the starter and some other important items including the engine.

Happens on my Dyna with some regularity since the hi-comp pistons went in. When it was a stock motor, it stil did it from time to time though. My favorite time was when a cop was standing nearby in a parking lot, when I hit the starter- BANG! He flinched and I saw his hand go for the pistol's handle.
Once he realized it was me, the look he gave me was nearly as menacing as his gun. Ah, memories!

Mines been doing that a little more lately, not sure why. It's carb'd and I jetted up after a stage one several months ago. Idle mixture off maybe? The motor is bone stock except the stage one.

I have that reaction every time I hear a car backfire, but the silliest is when someone slams a top-loader freezer door...sounds like a mortar impacting.[>:]
