Default Not so forward controls on street bob

Well after a year of haulin the wife on the back of my roadking she decided to get her own bike, being verticly chalenged at 5' 2" she ended up with a street bob with 1" lowering shocks good fit. So the question I am asking this great forum and knowlage base is has anyone heard of forward controls that are not so far forward I need to bring them back around 2" or so from standard soher short legs can reach them.

I made some blocks out of 3/4" thick aluminum but could have been 1/2" for that matter andthey brought my pegs up and back about 2" from the original forward location. Just took some time cutting and drilling them and then of course polishing them. I had pictures posted a while back and if you would like to see them let me know and I'll shoot you an email with pics.I also had to rebend the supplied forward brake rod to accomodate the change but it was well worth it for the look and the comfort.

A friend and I were at a dealer the other day, and found a dyna with the perfect set of forwards. I have a 29" inseam, and can't really reach standard forwards. These forwards were just right. a little higher and closer, but the dealer had no idea what kind they were (it was a trade in). I did some searches, and I think I found them, but can't be sure, unless I tried them.

These look EXACTLY like the ones we saw on the bike.

Boards are sort of between mids and forwards, but custom pegs mounts with forwards(like joeld descibes above)would be cheaper and probably easier. Plus, not everybody likes the lookof boards.

Thanks everyone for the replys I will look at the blocks that joeld has made sounds like a good idea. as for the boards I have the cross back 2 in 2's and dont think they will fit but a good idea. thats the thing about forward controls unless you have them all lined up in a row it is hard to tell.

I have an 06 street bob with forward controls also. I am 5'8" so I had the same problem. I got the REACH seat witht he bike. It moves you forward about 1" I think. I tried to ride with the stock solo seat and I could bearly shift. Not sure but I think it is a little lower in the seat also. It is a really comfortable seat to so it is just another option to think about.

You may want to check out a Corbin Reach Seat......They do move your body forward.

My OL is only 5'0' Rides a Low Rider with forward controls, and has 44K miles with no problems, using a Corbin Seat.

Respects,
Ed

do you still have the stock seat on the bike? A someone who ride a dyna I think the stock seat on the streetbob sits you further back than say a lowrider and also my current 05 fxdc stock seat...I think if you can get a reach seat it may allow two things: her close to the pegs and a better footing on the ground.. maybe the dealer has one in stock y'all can sample?

My $.02 is to go with the standard forward controls, and get some adjustable floorboards. They should work fine with the exhaust. Remember that Dyna's forward control, or even highway peg mounting position is much more forward than most other models. I rode a Softail Custom the other day, and my legs were really bent, and I remember thinking that my highway pegs were much more forward. Boards would be cheaper than getting a new seat, but I do know that the Corbin Reach seat does move you way forward. Your wife may really enjoy the floorboards since she's probably used to them on your RK.
