I installed one for a friend that already had the download, using a canned map from the website.
Ran ok once we zeroed the closed throttle position.
The maps are very general, you might try different maps to get the best performance.
If you order / ordered from Fuel Moto, they might have a map for your configuration with the download.
The other option is to have the bike dyno tuned for optimum performance and AFR.

I was told by a reputable builder in canada that the stage 1 download is an advantage when tuning with a pc3 because it will allow you access to timing tables that will be within range for calibration.
