Curing rattle can texture black paint
At what temperature and for how long should I "cure" rattle can texture paint? Can says that you can force curing this way, but doesn't give any guidance time or temp. Suggestions?

I have used "rattle can" wrincle for years and find that the best results have been when i preheat the item to be painted in the oven or BBQ then do as can says, 3 Heavy coats then be patient, it takes a little while. Don't forget to alow the time between coats.

Let it sit out in the sun for an hour before you spray. 3 heavy coats (5 min between).
Then let it bake dry in the sun. Turn it every so often to get an even wrinkle.
I have also used a heat gun to speed the process up - but keep it moving or the paint will bubble during the wrinkle.

I've already sprayed a couple of coats. The reason I want to bake the thing is because I am going to get the ECM flashed early tomorrow morning. It's the last opportunity I'll have to get it done before a road trip on Tuesday.

Try using a hair dryer.
Either way it will work, and since it is mostly hidden, any uneven wrinkle should not be noticeable.
Heating evenly is more important for things you see. Like battery bands, horns etc.

I find that it works best when it's hot.I usually wait til a hot day then let the part sit out for awhile in direct sunlight then spray on a few thick coats a few minutes apart.
