Default Ordered SE slip ons for my dyna today.........

I am still in Iraq doing the work of our commander in cheif. My brand new 2006 Dyna Super in Fire Pearl Red will be waiting for me when I get home on leave in May. AFter reading some earlir posts about SE not being made or sold anymore after may, I thought I better jump on this before its too late. After all, Screaming eagle stamped on my pipes may be a thing of the past.
Anyway, called my dealer and told them to add a set of bologna cut slip ons to my order. WIll just hold on to them till my 1000 mile service, at which time Ill have them installed. SO far I ordered chrome battery box, chrome electrical cover box, chrome console, forward controls, chrome real taillight cover, screaming aegle spark plug wires in Red(match the color of the bike), and Badlander leather seat.
Also thinking about getting the mini sissi bar, but havent committed to that one yet. Cant wait..............73 days.[

Congrats on the nice choice of bike! Man with what little time you get over there to yourself you must look thru the P & A catalog! Make it home safe and enjoy that SG!

10 / 4 on covering our a$$es while we sleep. You might want to consider a detachable sissy bar. If your like me I just think they look like ****, as soon as my lady gets off my bike so does the sissy bar.....

SilverGlide- I agree. I told my bride that the detachable one would make it easier to clean the bike in that area!

This is JUST the kind of behavior that has drawn me to the HD crowd from the land of Jap sport bikes. Everyone is there to help, offer advise, and words of encouragment. It doesnt matter who you are or what you do.......you ride HD your in a family it seems. As it would be, there are times here that I have a lot of down time. When I am at my base camp on the Iraq/Kuwait border I spend a lot(and I do mean a LOT)of time reading the posts on this board, reading/re-reading my 2006 HD parts and accy catalog(I almost have that thing memorized by this point)as well as any American Iron/V Twin motorcyle mags I can get my hands on. I also got a service manual for my bike for Xmas, so I spend a lot of time studying it as well, trying to become intimate with the breakdown of my machine.
Lot of the other guys here(who are 12-15 years younger than myself)think I am obsessed. I say, fine. I am, no biggie as there isnt much elsed to do outside of missions and keeping in touch with my family.
Botttom line.................I am not justbuying a bike. I am buying into a lifestyle of friends, fun, and good times with good people. I hope someday after I get done with my war here I can meet some of you guys at a rally or even on the road. Ill buy the first round!
