Iam 250 lbs.and want to something a little more comfortable on long rides. I do not have a windshield or bags so I am trying to keep the lean look of the bike, even if my fat *** weighs 250 lbs.
LaPierra, Mustang or Corbin???
Wide Vintage Super Touring Seat for us, so much more comfortable on long rides. Also sits me about an inch or 2 lower and back a little which is good for my legs. I am told the passenger seat is very comfortable too if that matters to you.
I replaced my stock seat with a Mustang Wide Solo and a Thin pad pillion as I don't double up very often. The Solo is great build quality and very comfortable for long rides.
Check out the Harley Customizer on their website. Then explore the SideKick Plain seat. I purchased one and installed it on my Low Rider. Very comfortable, quality leather seat. It moved me back about a inch over stock. I really enjoyed the seat.
I just bought a OEM solo from a Bobber, problem I am experiencing is, the back of the seat where it flares upward hits the upper part of my but crack[:-]and puts pressure down there and becomes uncomfortable real fast. I likely will go custom but am thinking about taking the stock Solo in to the trim shop and have the guy reshape the back of the seat and stretch the cover back over. If it's not cost effective doing this, guess it's time to start buying seats to find which seat feels better.. Thank god for e-bay!

Sorry for the semi thread hijack here, but....I'd like to know just how anybody buys a different seat from the HD dealer. I bought my 07 WG about a year and a half ago. I'm 6'6 and about 255 and the salesman told me that I would need a tallboy seat. He had one in stock, slapped it on the bike and I liked it, so along with several other upgrades and add ons, I'm out the door with the new scoot.
So a year and half and 5200 miles later, I decide I hate the F'ing tallboy seat. I'm at the stealers a couple of weeks ago and the parts guy tells me that they only stock about3 different seats out of about a dozen ones that will fit the WG. So, I see one in the catalog that looks like a good possibility...yeah, you guessed it, not one of the ones they stock. He says he'll order one for me. Here's the big kicker...I have to pay for the seat that I thinkI want in advance. When it comes in and I actually sit on it for the first time and decide it's not what I want, the parts guys says that I cannot get a refund on it. NO REFUNDS ON SPECIAL ORDERS.... So just WTF am I supposed to do , buy3 seats and spend $750 for them and whichever ones I don't like I have to sell them on ebAY??? "Are you F'ing kidding me I asked the parts guy" ...He said, "Nope, that's the way it works". Is this the way it works at all HD dealers???..That is just unbelievable to me.
I think that's the delima I will have looking for a new seat! Guess I will need to keep an eyeball out for seats while in my travels. Screw these stealers, they all pretty much think their **** and shop don't stink. I only buy from them in a last resort situation. They are only there to separate you from as much of your $$ as possible. When their hurtin, I laugh, as they deserve it! Anyway, ya got to keep an eye open, talk to people and ask if you can throw a leg over to find out..
