Personally, I think a patch would be much more cool, but since everyone is placing orders like they're at the Wailing Wall, I'll throw something out there. If someone wanted to take the initiative, they can take a design everyone likes and create a "store" on Cafe Press. I've gotten shirts from there before and they've been good quality. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it.
Now, if you use a design by the OP you could run into some legal trouble if you're profiting from his work even if he has disappeared from the forum.
