My 07 Lowrider was getting 37 MPG with the stage 1 (pipes, SE AC, Dealer download). I added the Nightrider Xieds and now I get between 40 and 42 MPG. So to answer your question yes yourfuel economywill go down. I was told the stage 1 should give you 10 % more power. I'm no mathematician but it seems to me that fuel consumption would go up 10 %.

My bike never got anywhere near 50 MPG. Not trying to start a war and with all due respect I have to question a persons arithmetic when they claim 48 MPG with a stage 1.

Overall MPG is likely going to depend on riding style more than anything else. hard for me to keep from grabbing all that new found horsepower after going from the 94 Lowrider to 08 Fat Bob.

I've been seeing about 37-40 on my 07 bob with a Big Sucker, PCIII (mapped from Fuel Moto) and Python Staggered Duals. Is there a change in fuel consumption.....yes. Is the bike more fun to ride and is there more power....HELL YES. I'm not looking to go cross country on this baby. As long as I can make it around 150mi on one tank i'm cool. If I was that overly worried about fuel consumption i would have bought one of those 130mpg scooters!

With an '08 FXDC and the full HD Stage 1 treatment I have gotten over 50 mpg on a long highway run. I cruise from 65 - 75 mph and have only a few lights on either end of the run, so it's almost all highway. I am probably getting around 55 mpg on that run twice per week. In town and commuting to work (60 miles each day) I'm getting closer to 48 mpg if I stay out of the throttle. Bombing around town on the weekends I get about 45 mpg.

I went from 48-50 mpg stock to about 40-42 with a stage 1.

Didn't check it before, not going to check it after. Gets a lot better mileage than my truck but I didn't buy it to save gas.

crap... i'm in the midst of completing my stage 1.

I hope that it actually improves my gas mileage because i'm getting under 35 mpg on my 07 FXDC. Then again, it might be an indication that after removal of the heat shields, the pipes are blue as hell after less than 5000 miles.

So from what I read, there is a slight difference but not significant enough to say you ruin yourself or you save enough to buy a house, lol! It all depends on the way we ride our bike. The question was not necessary to see if I would save gas or not but to see if there was a big difference. Bottom line, we do whatever is necessary to have fun riding, whether stock bike or stage 1-2. I will probably do stage 1 next winter, I still have to decide on the pipes and the air filter, and put some mopney aside.

Tx for your answers muchachos!

Been only on one 221 mile ride so far and got 40 mpg. Stock was 41-49 mpg. I hope this improves.
