I know this is strange but I am wondering about somehow putting a true cruise control on my Street I have arthritis in my hands and I do frequent 600 mile rides from Kc to Omaha Any way I was wondering about adapting this to a street or if it was impossible Thanks Renegadez
Isn't that kit for the tourers that have drive by wire throttle control???????
I don't think that willwork on a street bob.
Why not buy a tourer withcruise controlalready fitted.
I think its the new UC's that have the fly by wire. Earlier ones used cable.
I imagine its possible to adapt one, but it could be a lot more than a $300 mistake if it doesnt work.
There's always the throttlelocker, or the vista cruise like I have, but you still have to tweak the throttle depending on terrain. And you still have that split second of additional brainpower needed in a panic situation. That could hurt a little more than arthritis.
Use the throttle tension screw ... the little star shaped doo-hickey under and to the left of your throttle side hand grip. Set it so it is just tight enough to hold when you let go, that way it doesn't take much to return it to "off" I use this method often when I take naps on the highway, it works well and IT'S FREE !!!!

I saw a magnetic operated cruise control in either the JP Cycles or the Dennis Kirk catalog, I believe it is made by Kuryakyn....the description said that hitting your brakes deactivated it, might be worth checking out.
