adding my cycle shack slip ons&nbsp\\; now and was told to use silicone when puttn them on, do i need to do this or not?

I would. Something like Permatex Ultra Copper. Even the tiniest of air leaks can produce popping.

Second the permatex ultra copper(be generous with it), don't forget to retorque after first ride and not a bad idea to rivet too. You don't want to lose one.

omg, its to late now wasnt real generous with the silicone and as far as the rivits, i was wondering bout that, dont have a rivit gun...grrrrrrrrrrrr and didnt get 1 of the claps on far enuff to rivit it...guess i need to start over ay

now sum1 has said dont use silicone. it will mess up 02 sensor...crap. is this true...help. i just redid it and add more silicone.&nbsp\\; now im confused. and pulln my hair out.grrrrrr

I just pulled my slip ons off today, and put silicone on them. I couldn't find ultra copper, so I used "permatex sensor safe high temp gasket maker" They had 2 different high temp ones, but I got the "sensor safe" one to be on the safe side.
It doesn't take much, just a thin layer. I got them on, snugged the clamps, waited about 1/2&nbsp\\;hour, and then torqued them to 55 ft lbs. I didn't start the bike yet, going to let it fully cure first.

ty bro, just looked at the silicone, its sensor safe. just wish i woundnt have clapped them down all the way , but i did , was in a hurry..
