Before I go out and spend the cash, I just wanted to know if I really need a fuel pack. I have a 2007 FXDB, recently added V&\\;H big shots staggered, w/ a set of quiet baffles. The air cleaner is stock. It's recommended by V&\\;H to get a fuel pack but I was wondering if I really need it. I don't really intend to change the filter or air cleaner, unless it's really needed due to the upgrade in pipes. O, the ECU is set to stock as well.. so, please if anyone can shed some light, I would greatly appreciate it.
You would need the better flowing air cleaner and FuelPak to enrichen the fuel mixture in order to get the best performance out of the pipes. \\;
 \\;
However, if you just change the pipes, and nothing else, you will be okay - that is, you will be running the lean mixture that the factory has programmed to meet EPA manufacturing standards.
 \\;
If you can swing the cash, the Screaming Eagle air cleaner and V&\\;H FuelPak will give you beaucoup more torque in 4th, 5th and 6th gears. \\; Performance in 5th and 6th gears with the stock setup is anemic. \\; Regarding mileage with this setup, I just came back from Rolling Thunder in Washington, DC and on my 225 mile ride home, at steady 70-75mph, I averaged 50mpg. Around town it's 38-40mpg.

That Sounds great. So, I'm ok with the pipes as is w/ no other mods, but if I wanted more boost, I should upgrade air cleaner to the SE, then I can install the fuel pak for better performance on the upper 3 \\;gears.  \\;

Depends who you ask. \\; Best thing to do is check your plugs to make sure they aren't too white (too lean). \\; If not, run with it. \\; One thing is for sure, if you get a fuelpak, you must upgrade the air cleaner. \\; All of the fuelpak codes are developed with a high flow a/c - specifically the Screamin Eagle stage 1 - according to the fuelpak tech I talked to.
 \\; \\; \\; I have the same pipes as you with quiet baffles, KN3909 and a pcIII from fuelmoto and couldn't be happier. Go with PClll for an extra 100. More tunable. 291.00 delivered
Hey 2007FXDC, I did check the plugs, which by the way, I changed them about a month ago before I upgraded the pipes, and show signs of normal darkening. so i guess the mixture is on the money for now. \\;
