ok, so far, i reinstalled the stock a/c and it still started to glow, also did a quick test with the xied's off and same thing. \\; Makes me think it must have been doing this all along and this is the first i noticed since i was checking out the new a/c and looking there. \\; My main problem is i just dont have the money for a pc3 or the tmax autotune which is what i'm trying to save for anyway. \\; It is in the stock set up with the v&\\;h slip ons right now so I guess the next step is calling the shop. \\; This sucks as my bike is my primary means of transpo. \\; I appreciate all the help and insight so far.
Don't worry about changing the pipes right now. \\; If you can't get the download, fuelpak, or tuner right now, put the stock a/c back on and run it with the xied's. \\; Check your plugs and see if they are real white. \\; If they are, that definitely indicates too lean.
talked with a bunch of people today, from Nightrider's Steve Mullen to various HD dealers and independents. \\; The answers varied from never seen it to "I've seen it a few times, was never able to do anything about it and never had anyone come back with any further complaints." \\; Steve, as always proved very helpful. \\; According to him ( or one of his good friends who works harley service) it is a known problem that harley says is "normal but not common." \\;Also, the newer pipes are very thin walled and have a high titanium content which apparently glows much easier than the older steel. \\;  \\;He's doing more research on it for me as well. \\; Lastly, my local dealer asked me to swap the pipes back to stock, see if it does it still and if it does bring it in for a free reflash of the newest stock download. \\;

37000 miles of glowing pipes along with stage1 and remap.havent burned her up yet. sets of plugs look right maybe a tad on lean side but not worried no more did make switch to syn oil at 24000 miles
the problem wiht your pipes getting that hot and GLOWING is you WILL shatter the pipe... i was just working on a bagger last night that was not propperly mapped and he was 15000 miles in just figuring pipes glow... well they shattered when he cam out of the gates hard... right after the bend on the back pipe... i pulled his plugs you would have thought it was snowing in that motor wiht as white as they where... GLOWING pipes is NOT normal
Went in today and they reflashed the ECM with the same map that was already on it, I'll see tonight if it did anything. \\; All the guys at the shop said they've seen it a lot with the newer TC96 and also confirmed that they did change the metal of the exhaust in 06. \\; They suggest trying the 103 stage one map next for $150 and then if that doesnt work (which they didnt seem very optimistic) then they suggest the new super tuner for another $550 plus labor (also, only half confident that that would fix it). \\; They also said that my other option was to just not look at it. \\; They seemed rather confident that if the engine got hot enough to cause any damage it would shut itself down and I should feel the skip spark mode before that. \\; Again, performance wise the bike is running strong. \\; The plugs look good to me (maybe a slight bit white but not the "ash" people talk of) but I'm no expert in reading plugs. \\; I'll try to pull them and see if i cant get a decent picture to post for those of you who know what your looking for.
