JRK: Besides the shattered pipes what other damage did he have to his bike? The only thing I'm worried about is my motor. I will be PCSing from Florida in about a week and a half/ two weeks so all my money is going to the move. If I have enough money left over from that then I'm going to get the TMAX auto tuner to make sure the bike is getting the fuel it needs. From now until then I just don't want to burn out my engine but I obviously still want to ride. I also want to put on new pipes but my worry is that if the thicker-walled aftermarket pipes do not glow is that just hiding my condition or is it "fixed."

Any way if I run my engine in a closed space for 2 or three minutes they get red hot , but never when Im riding around with it.

Got off the freeway, let her idle awhile, put the infrared thermo right at the header pipes where they exit the heads and got 550 degrees, man, that is the hottest spot and 550 is not glowing, somethin wrong when the pipes are glowing IMO.

I got \\;digital thermo to check, highest I saw after 5 min idling was 450, usually seeing around 350.

If all is running well and you are under warranty. Do not give $550 plus dollars to the stealer
for a Super Tuner. Save your dough and get the Thundermax autotune you mentioned. My bike
has never run better or cooler since I did the install on mine.
