Factory default is 7-7-7-7-7 afaik, though whoever owned my bike before must have set their own and didn't write it in manual [:@]

But if you read your owners manual you can easy control what code it is and then change it if you want.

Man, could this be a good reason to carry an extra FOB battery on the bike somewhere? Maybe not, I guess you can over-ride it using your special code right?

To set/change the PIN (at least on a Fat Bob)

You need the functioning key fob with you when you do this.

1. Turn ignition key: ignition-off-ignition-off-ignition
2. Press left turn signal switch 3 times.
3. Press right turn signal switch 1 time.
4. Set the first number of your PIN by pressing the left turn signal switch however many times you want the first number of your PIN to be (if the first number of your PIN is 3, you would press the left turn signal switch 3 times).
5. Press the right turn signal switch one time to move to the second number of your PIN.
6. Enter the second number of the PIN using your left turn signal switch as in step 4.
7. Keep repeating the process until you have entered all 5 numbers.
8. Turn ignition off.

It helps if you have your display set to odometer, because the numbers you set will show up on the odometer. That way, you can be sure you're setting the PIN number you think you are.

According to the dealer it was the proximity of an electric pylon that caused the original problem!! All he had to do, apparently, was wheel the bike out of range of the pylon and problem would have been solved.......doesn't ring true to me still reckon battery in fob was flat.
&nbsp\\;
He tried it this morning&nbsp\\;at home with spare fob and up she sparked

Will have another look for that section, also occurred to me that maybe a code had never been set in the first place.

According to my dealer there is no factory default.
