i have been looking for a longer front fender for my 05 super glide and i have seen them made of fiber glass and some metal i want to stay with the thin just longer in the back any body got any ideals .
If you don't like the look of the shorter stock fender you can always go back to a more traditional (larger) Sportster or FX type fender. They're pretty interchangeable, but I don't know if they're available for the 2006 models. Just a thought.

They don't fit now that the front forks have been enlarged to 49mm and the mount points have been changed. I've been looking all over for a longer front fender for my '06 FXDI, but haven't had any luck yet. The Dennis Kirk catalogue lists one in a ducktail style that says it will fit an '06, but that same fender is shown in the J&P Cycles book and they say it only fits up to '05.
You will have to paint it any way so you can easily fapricate it to fit, Just cut off the mounting plates from the original fender and weld it on the new one. If you wait untill next year there will probably be plenty to choose from.

That's what I was thinking of doing, but the only question is whether or not the larger diameter fork tubes will require the fender to be dimpled in order to fit between them. If that's the case, I'll just wait until next year. Fabricating/adapting the mount plates is no problem, I'm just not very good at bodywork.
Ya hear ya I cant do body work worth a ****, Lucky I have a few friends that are in the buissnes. I was figuring that who ever was to paint the fender would do the body work also. Thats due to the reason that I cant paint worth of **** either.
Measure the distance between them on your bike, then go to the dealer or someone nearby with an'05 and measure theirs, that should give you an idea of what will be involved. I went with an ABS plastic Arlen Ness cafe fender in the front. Not larger, just looks different.....(better)
