 \\;I know rookie rider.[:-] Sometimes when stopping at a light, stop sign, etc. I come to a sloppy stop , and when this happens my front wheel always seem to turn to the right. This happened some when I had my Honda a few years back too. So what am I doing wrong. To much front brake when stopping? Not enough front brake? Thought I would ask some of you pros on here.
Ditto on what luther says
Lighten up on your front brake when you're down to 10-15 mph
Keep your right foot on the binders and your left on the ground.
I spend a lot of time doing low speed stuff. My right foot gets a workout and my ticklers never touch.
Think about the torque which takes place on your handles bars when you are applying pressure to the front brake. \\; I think that may answer your question.

When I taught the MSF classes the #1 problem with the students when stopping was that they looked down and not straight ahead. \\; To solve this I told to imagine that a fishing line with a barbed hook was attached to the back of their head then routed down their back with the hook placed in their pants and if they looked down the hook would be "set". \\; The students would envision this and miraculously their stopping was perfect! \\;
Damn, I just been on the front brakes when stopping. Guess it never hurts to ask a stupid question. Thanks guys. Thats a messed up way of explaining it Desert Hog, I'll never be able to look down again.[&o] That could be painfull
