Anyone know how accurate the speedometer on a Harley is. Went on a ride with some guys who had a gps on their bikes. My speedometer was reading 75 mph when their gps was reading 65 mph. Could it be that far out? I have an 06 superglide and everything is stock.

 

Mine is about 2 mph faster than GPS indicates.

 

My speedometer is 3miles faster than my Garmin GPS

 

On any given speedo, there's an average of 10% to as much as 15% error differential, either way, slow or fast.

Mine is usually right on with my GPS.

 

Go out on the highway and run a measured mile. It doesn't matter how fast you go, just make sure the trip meter indicates an exact mile at the end of it. The way speedos are built, if the odometer is off, the speedometer is off.

Personally, if someone tried to tell me my speedo was 10 mph off, I'd laugh at them.

 

Mine is only off 1 MPH faster than I am actually going.

Mine is 3 miles faster than I am going.&nbsp\\; But that is based on the portible radar&nbsp\\; that the local law sets up to show your speed.

My speedo is off just a bit but I ride a little fast anyway so I don't really pay much attention. I go by then sound of the LOUD PIPES!!! OLD TRUCKER hahaha
