Picked up my Street Bob last Tuesday. I bought the Screaming Eagle II slip-on's for later installation as the dealer had them in stock. It was my impression that all I needed to do to install these was to have the ECM remapped. I called the dealer and told him what I needed and was told "the remap is not available for Dyna models and that I needed to buy a Vance and Hines fuel pack and SEII K&N air filter" Are they trying to stroke me? I'm going to call another dealer to see what they say.
Yes, they are. I had a complete stage I done on my Bob prior to delivery. It consisted of SEII slip ons, SE A/C kit, and the download. If you just do the slip ons without the A/C, you will still need the download.
I bought an 06 bob as well and spoke to three different dealers about upgrades
and got 3 different answers... in the end I went with the seII slip ons ,stage one kit and the download .
I believe that some (not all) dealers have service advisors who are unsure of there products
I chose what I had for money reasons there are better paths to performance and sound
but it will cost ya
The first download you need is after you get the SE Air Cleaner. HD does not have a calibration for a muffler change until Stage 2 1550. You can see the charts confirming this in another of my posts.
