I have a new 2008 Street Bob that so far has been performing flawlessly (knocking on wood) after 750 miles and one month of use. However, I have been reading all these issues about Steering head clunking, loud 5th gear, over-lean hot running engines, false neutrals, etc. But just about every one of these issues seems to be about the 2006-2007 models. Does anyone have any idea if HD has addressed and/or fixed these issues on the 2008 models? I have looked online to see if I can find a central location for Harley-Davidson recalls (especially about the EFI remapping), but I can't seem to find a place that lists recalls, etc.
What's the general consensus? Are the 2008 models pretty solid or are these issues still cropping up? Are you other 2008 owners finding these same problems also?
Steering head washer is new style in 2008 False neutral was only 1 year i dont remember 05 \\;or 06 \\;lean hot motor thank the EPA and yours is the same. \\;Something may come up \\;thats only an issue on \\;2008 to early to tell. Stop worrying and ride you allready own it so if you have a \\;problem down the road too late to worry.  \\; \\;

Too late to worry? \\; What's "worry" got to do with anything? If there is an existing known problem that has a fix waiting for me at the dealer, I would be pretty stupid to go on a long trip to find that out, doncha think? Ever hear about "preventative" maintenance?
if there is a problem with a fix the dealer will not do it unless you have the problem you said bike was flawless. If there was a recall you would have that info. \\;All \\;I was saying is relax preventative maintenance is not worrying about a problem you dont have. \\; \\; \\;
HD Forum DOES HAVE an area that give you a link to research all HARLEY RECALLS. \\; If you scroll down to the DO IT YOURSELF heading, then click on GENERAL....... you'll see a thread for HARLEY RECALLS \\; Here is the direct link. https://www.hdforums.com/m_140005/tm.htm
It's amazing how much info there is for you on this Forum. \\; You just have to hunt for it sometimes. \\; Far as I can tell.......NO RECALLS \\; OR SERVICE ALERTS \\;for the 07 Dyna's. \\; \\; Last thread regarding the Dyna transmission \\;false neutral \\; also can be located under DO IT YOURSELF..... click on TECH TIPS.....and it's about half way down the list. \\;
