It does.
I purchased my bike about 8 months ago and my first ride was thru boston traffic on a Friday afternoon coming home from the dealership.
I thought the bike was going to blow up. I pulled over to cool it and my right leg down. Called the dealership to make sure there wasnt an issue and was told the bike "tends to run a little hot".
A "little hot" was probably an understatement.
 \\;
Since then, I spent a grand to upgrade the pipes (stock are just way too quiet for my taste), PCIII, and Ness AC.
It is 100% better now.
 \\;
Sad to think that you need to spend so much to get the bike where you need it.
 \\;
With all that said. It is a great bike. I am enjoying every second I ride.
 \\;
 \\;
You mean TINK as in detonation? \\;\\\\\\; If that is the case you may want to correct that before you put more miles on it.
Most likely detonation/pre-ignition, but it is so hard to tell where any noise is coming from while your riding. \\;I don't envy MC techs trying to identify noise issues, it is bad enough diagnosing them on a car. \\;It only seems to \\;happen when you snap the throttle open to accelerate and only for a split second. Fixing it? The engine is all stock and I am using 91 highest in CA. I am going to take it to the dealer and complain but I can already hear the response, we don't hear anything. I suspect it is a heat issue and the Ieds or Xieds may solve the problem.
CB
The only time I noticed the right leg heat was after I install my new Hollywood solo seat which is narrower than the stock seat. This puts my right thigh cloer to the read cylinder header pipe.
Mine has done that since new, and still does it a little even after XIEDs and fuelpak, but I noticed that certain brands of fuels and even different stations of the same fuels will make it go away. BP makes mine "Tink", no matter whre I get it. It also won't do it if I keep the RPMs up, or downshift before cracking the throttle open.  \\;
No mistake about it my 07 lowrider seems to run hot since day 1. \\; I would love to do some upgrades but don't have the cash maybe int the future.
Here's a news flash ...
 \\;
Ready? \\; Here it is ...
 \\; 96 inch air cooled engines are hot. \\; Hot as hell. \\; They always have been. \\;
 \\;
In 1992 my roomies' 96" Shovel was easily twice as hot as my 80" Evo. \\; Comes with the territory. \\; Go ahead and spend $1000 on the "heat issues" with a SERT and an oil cooler or whatever if you want to, and blast HD to hell and back for releasing "bad product". \\; For my part, I'll get the Stage 1 flash for $150, switch to \\;synthetic oil, and ride dat b!tch like I stole it.
I can attest to heat issues on my 2007 Low Rider. \\;\\\\\\; I liken it to having my leg next to the oven broiler set a 550 degrees. Now imagine having to use MID CONTROLS because you're legs are too short to reach highway or forward controls. \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\; I have to stick my leg out while riding to get some cool air flow over it. \\;\\\\\\; It's too bad the GOVERNMENT has to screw this up. \\;\\\\\\;
 \\;\\\\\\;
Question for all you mechanics and brain-y-acks out there. \\;\\\\\\; Would \\;\\\\\\;using an ethanol blended fuel \\;\\\\\\;cause it to run even hotter??? \\;\\\\\\;
 \\;\\\\\\;The WalMart by me \\;\\\\\\;recently switched over to selling \\;\\\\\\;ONLY E-85 blended fuel in \\;\\\\\\;ALL their pumps, and you'd never know unless you really read the small print on the pumps. \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\ ;We went to fill up our Tahoe and noticed it. \\;\\\\\\; Usually we only put Shell's VPower in our bikes, but not every one has a Shell station close to them.......so was just wondering.
LWOS and others: \\;Please resist the temptation to \\;try E-85...that is unless you're planning on replacing those nice looking rides...lol. \\; It might run cooler (due to the fact it doesn't produce as much energy as gasoline),but our bikes would require special sensors ,fuel/air changes, and probably even teflon coated fuel lines to tolerate running a fuel mix of 85% alcohol. \\; I'm not a mechanic, but googled and found the warnings pretty easily. The XIED's sounds like the cheapest fix unless you're interested in a Stage 1 upgrade like others have done. \\;
