I have a 2008 street bob. \\; I have about 1700 miles on it so far. \\; My question to you is this—when I put the bike in 5th or 6th gear and give it the gas, sometimes it sounds like there are rocks in the engine banging around. \\; This only happens when I pull the throttle back fast. \\; Does anyone have an idea what this may be and if so should I have it looked at?
Could you possibly be twisting the wick when your engine was already lagging....in other words, were you running at least 2000 RPM before you opened the throttle?? \\;

yeah my fatbob sounds like that also when you roll on the throttle in sixth and the revs are a little low. \\; seems to have gotten better with miles though.
your all fkn nuts....I can shift into 6th at 45.....NO NOISE NO RATTLES..I can run it as low as 1500rpm in 6th without any noise.
its a stroker motor ffs designed for high torque and low rpm.....dont believe the harley bs about lugging it...its just about them saving there own *** so they dont have to replace your sub standard crank
+1 on the shifting too soon. That's \\; the problem. \\; I wasn't used to the extra gears and learned that lesson too. \\; Also as a couple other posts mentioned...never shift to 6th unless your doing at least 60 mph. \\; Crusing at 65mph or higher works best for 6th from what I'm seeing.
