i got to get a new front tire \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\;& nbsp\\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\; \ \;\\\\\\; what would you get \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\; im stuck
ive heard other wise splater \\; \\; \\; \\; \\;&nb sp\\; i heard its ok to mis match \\; \\; \\; \\; \\;  \\; \\;
Just fitted a new 160/70 Metz \\; ME800 on my rear,but still riding with the Dunlop up front,i find the new Metz tyre takes to the curveys better than the old Dunlop rear,havnt had no probs yet with mixing two different brands,i still get the old Dunlop front following lines on the road,will be replacing the old Dunlop front for Metz when the rubber is done.
Wolfy
I did the same thing as wolfy and same results. Being a harder compound you have to go easy at first in the turns cause it doesnt grip well until it gets scuffed up a little.
I have Metzlers on my Softail and Roadglide, and Avons on my FXD. \\; As far as handling and feel, I will be switching over to Avons on all my bikes. \\; I like the feel the Avons give, ie...grip, road response, turn-in, and overall handling. \\; The compound is softer, but I have not noticed that big of a tread life difference.
I have also run the Dunlops, Perellis(spelling ?), and Bridgestones. \\; The last three mentioned suck!!!! \\; Dunlops, well you already know. \\; Perellis, no grip when ground is damp or wet. \\; Bridgestones, unstable \\; at speed.
IMHO... \\; Go with the Avons, you will be glad you did. \\; Mine are Avon X. \\; Check out their website for more information. \\; I also contacted via telephone, great customer service.
I only have the Dunflops and now my Metz to \\; compare. \\; I'm so impressed with the Metz, I don't know why I would bother trying something else.
 \\;
In the end, I think you will be happy with either Avon or Metz. \\; The only thing I have heard in general is that Avon, being softer, will provide less miles before needing replacement.

 \\;i heard its ok to mis match

Describe "OK." The bike isn't going to explode when you turn the key. It will still ride and you probably won't get hurt. On the other hand, you'll be very likely to say, "Yeah, I tried the (Metz/Avon) and it wasn't that great." It's very unlikely you'll say, "Wow! My front tire handles so much better! I'm soooo happy my front tire is working so great!" \\;To get the benefit of all the effort the designer put into the tires, they should \\;match.
