Removing Baffles
I've got the stage one installed and have the VH big radius. I removed the baffles and I think it sounds so much better. Say LOUDER. Anyway I've got a sweet decel popping between shifts and overall I like it. Is there any negative feedback from anyone concerning long term effects of having the baffles removed besides my neighbors hating me more and more. What do you think?
You need some kind of baffle or your going to run hot and eventually damage the engine. Do a search \\;in this section and the exhaust section \\;and you will find dozens of threads, if not hundreds, \\;on this topic. You didn't mention wether you also installed a SERT, Power Commander, V&\\;H tuner, or some other fuel management system. If you didn't, you need one of those also or your really going to screw things up. \\;Do a search on this also if you need too. These are probably the most discussed topics on the forum. \\;As for baffles, look into the Big City Thunder baffles. You will love the sound. Just under $100 for the V&\\;H Big Radius. I have them on my bike with Big Sucker and SERT.
FATBOB67 Yours must be really loud, I can't imagine mine without baffles

It's got the SERT and high flow A/C. I removed the heat shields and then removed the set screw that hold each baffle in. Well the first one basically fell out. The second one needed some "ASSISTANCE". Finished around 9 pm. Waited until the next day to start. WHAT a Difference. NOW it sounds like the HD I wanted.
