I bought a pair of used big radius 2 into 2 pipes for my 2007 dyna street bob, the a$$ who sold them never told me the baffles were taken out and he does not have them. Vanes and hines does not sell replacement baffles for them. Do I buy a pair of Big City Thunder baffles or go with torque cones??
Also should I go with the power commander or another tuning system?
You are going to get pros and cons for every tuner available. I have the PC-III and am very happy with it. You will hear differently from others. A lot depends on your future performance plans for the bike and how deep your pockets are.
As far as the baffles, there are several guys on here who have the Big Radius and have switched baffles. If you post a thread titled something like, "Big Radius Baffles Needed", I would imagine you will find someone who can help. I have the BCT on my Big Shots Staggereds and love them. They are loud and deep.
Bct baffles all the way! The pipes were loud with the stock baffles in, but put in the bct baffles to wake them up even more. There about $80 new. And yes you will get a lot of opinions on tuners. I personally went with the sert because I knew I was going to do motor work down the line. It's pricey at $459 but I scored big time at my dealers black friday sale last year and got 50% off.
BCT baffles are good. As for tuners...look at the new Mastertune setup in the Ignition/ECM section of the tech forums. Shovelhead Bob has a Q&A thread there. The Mastertune people made the first SERT and thier new system is supposed to be pretty good. PCIII is good but old technology. Th new tuners either replace your ECM (Thundermax) or reprogram the software in it (SEST or TTS Mastertune) I have the old SERT and it is nice to be able to re-map your bike.
BCT baffles rock. Judging from the dyno I had the QQ ones may produce too rich a condition through the midrange. (BCT did tell me they are richer through the midrange than the monster baffle).
