I was waxing my WG last weekend, and saw wax collecting in a hairline crack on the front fender. I thought to myself crap.....new bike and I already need the touvh up paint. Well, as I was touching it up, I noticed that the crack was not just the paint. The entire fender (metal) was cracked. From the side, up to the rivet, and continuing almost to the center of the fender. Well, I took it to the dealer. He took a picture, said he never saw that before, but there was no damage to the fender elsewere, so it must have been a weak spot at the rivet. He called the MoCo, and my new fender is on order.
It sucks, but the Dealer and MoCo gave me no hassle, and the new fender will be in in a week.
There has been a lot of bad talk about dealers lately, and sometimes you have a bad one. But, I think they are behind the power curve on the new dyna EFI, and thats causing the probs. But, they took care of me real good on the fender. Soooooo, I will wait until its on, then start in on the injectors!
ANyone else ever had this problem? I have been on and around harleys most of my 35 years and have not seen that before? Granted I am young, but still.......
can i ship my bike to you so you can take it to your dealer lol. ive had nothing but probs with my bob oh and the dealer but will see if they take care of me so far they say they will look at it oh yea thats a relife.but i have many dealer to go throu here in the twin cities.hey grizz you be safe on the other side of the pond buddy
I will bud, I am here until July 15th, so I got some ride time left. Luckily, with the pipes and D/L, and keeping the stock A/C, the bike runs good. Slight surging around 20-25 mph in 2nd, but I am gonna get the injectors when the fender comes in. The cracked fender is weird. I think the rivet weakened it or somthing. Anyhow, they are replaceing it so no worries. The service manager told me if I wanted, I could take the fender off until the new one comes in a week, just incase it decides to crack the rest of the way across. My luck i would throw a rock off the front tire and ding the tank.......so I will be rideing the Sportster to work for the next week!
I told the wife...see, its a god thing I kept the Sportster! Of course if I sold it I could afford my own cage and wouldnt have to borrow hers when its crappy out!
Anyhow, I am sorry your having such a crappy time with the EFI. I seriously think your stock set up will run fine wiht the 25's, then you can decide what direction to go for stage 1!
they better or im going for blood lol. well like i said i have many stealers here in the twin cities i already called st paul harley and told them the prob. i said who ever does the change is who im buying the sert and pipes from...
