This is gonna sound like a total newb question but if torque values are displayed as a range, do you just take the avg between the two or do you torque the low setting, the mid or the high end? \\\\\\; Always confused me and never really thought to ask before. \\\\\\; I've never had any trouble but was always curious.

Torque wrenches are finnicky and often inaccurate so bet to err on the side of caution and torque to the middle .
