Default Shifter Arm

I have been away from the forum for about 6 months. The internet connection at work was so slow that I gave up trying there and I never seemed to have time when I was off. Well, I fixed that problem. I retired last week. I now hope to be a regular contributor.
&nbsp\\;
On to my problem. My shifter arm is loose on the shaft. I can wiggle it around even though the bolt is as tight as I can take it short of twisting it off like I did the first time this happened. It is the stock HD arm with a stainless 1/4-20 bolt. The first time I noticed this is when I went to install an ISO shifter peg and fond the arm loose on the shaft. This was the factory setup and when I tried to tighten the bolt, it just snapped. Any help or insight will be appreciated.

As long as I am asking, what is the current wisdom on tires. I was at the J&amp\\;P open house last weekend and the Drag Specialties rep told me the Metzler radials are fine to put on my Dyna? I always thought that if the manufacture put bias plys on you needed to stick with them.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks
&nbsp\\;
Jim

I don't know what to do about your shifter, but I agree that the radial is fine. I think the bias ply tires are just cheaper and get put on as standard.

I was thinking about your shifter arm problem, cause it didn't make sense to me. Then I thought,&nbsp\\;does the bolt you are tightening have a shoulder on it? take it out and check, if it was threaded the whole lenght it should tighten it right up. And when fully tight are the two ends of the split in the shifter arm touching or close? Also is the shifter arm spline where it is loose or is the shaft loose in the forward control bracket, just some thoughts.
