I don't think mine was black, but I did have quite a bit of "shavings" at the 1,000 mile service.&nbsp\\; I thought something might be wrong, but after looking on here, it seemed like an average amount of milling shavings.

 

mine had shavings at 1st change, I changed primary every 2000 for 3 shots, its much better now, my oil was dark 1st time out as well. I'm using HD primary, it actually seems the best so far, I have tried red line, mobile and one other before HD. its the only hole I use HD fluids in. If it was low that would concern me (if it was excessive). Have it looked at if you are real worried, always safe to be sure, (although dealers can miss **** as well).
I change my primary about every 1000 now, its only a qt so what the hell, and you can feel the dif with fresh oil
