how did you get water in the primary! unless your using a crazy high powered power washer... the primary is that big oval deal by your left when your sitting on the bike! houses your clutch basket and drive train... derby cover is on there, take about a qt of fluid...

The problem was water in the PCIII connections.... Not the primary... Someone else mentioned having problems with the stator in the primary.... LOL

Could have used that type of washer when I was in a mechanized unit and had Tanks and APCs... All we had was a garden hose to get all the friggin mud off of them...Took us all friggin day!!!! But it did keep us out of trouble.. mostly..

I rode my 2008&nbsp\\;FXDC home yesterday evening after it had rained quite a bit.&nbsp\\; It was fun riding in the cooler temps and under the storm clouds, but I always hate to think about the rain getting in places from the underside that may cause problems.&nbsp\\; Is this a concern or do these problems usually only happen when you ride while it's raining?
&nbsp\\;
I was wondering if I should use my air compressor to blow out some of places that I was concerned about, but thought that may blow water into places I don't want as well.&nbsp\\;

The bikes are designed to get wet and are tested against getting wet by the Moco.&nbsp\\; That doesn't mean there isn't going to be one here and there that water makes it a bit further than anyone expected and causes a problem.&nbsp\\; However, in this case, we are talking about water getting into something that wasn't there as part of the stock bike (PCIII).&nbsp\\; When you plug in these devices, like the PCIII or fuelpak, etc., to the stock connectors, you may need get a good seal and water can then get in.&nbsp\\;

I have only read about people who have the PCIII having problems with water. Seems the way the connectors sit allows water to seep in. I have been out in a down pour on my Wide Glide and have yet to have any problems... Other then freezing... LOL

Well, the way the pc3 is installed and the lack of bloody space i wonder how water wouldn't get in there!!!&nbsp\\; its a real tight fit...&nbsp\\; anyway, the dealer wrapped it in plastic and electrical tape so i should not have the problem anymore,

The tape may not be the best way to go.
&nbsp\\;
Pull the connectors apart and coat them with dielectric grease. It will prevent the pins from shorting out if water gets in there again.
