Default Love the Fatbob, but.......

I'm getting slightly bugged by my knees/thighs hitting the chrome thingie on the left hand side (horn?) and the stock air cleaner cover on the right.&nbsp\\; Are there any options to cure this?&nbsp\\; I'm new to Harley's so don't know alot.&nbsp\\; Also is there a way to get the shift lever and the rear brake pedal to stick out a little further out from the frame so as to better center up on the foot pegs? I have to toe in with both feet to use the controls.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; All this being said I love the bike, handles great and plan on doing the 103" big bore and cams this winter!

I adjusted the horn slightly forward and relieved the pressure on my left knee. The right wasn't a problem till I put on an aftermarket breather setup.

I put the Kuryakyn Longhorns on mine.&nbsp\\; Although i had never had an issue with the horn and A/C hitting my legs, since i put on a big sucker a/c my right leg now touches the a/c cover a little bit.&nbsp\\; I'll just have to get used to it.&nbsp\\; But look at the longhorns, they helped out with my toe in issue.

Sounds like you have forward controls.&nbsp\\; Just as a alternate riding position to alleviate your problem, maybe add some mid pegs to give you another foot location which should take care of that.&nbsp\\; I know it's not fixing your main control position but it will be nice to have the mids to change up even when you get your controls the way you want them.&nbsp\\; I have mid controls but added forward highway pegs for my alternate so I feel what your talking about when I use them.

Change the seat out so it will set you back further on the bike. The stock seat on my Low Rider absolutely sucked, makes you sit to far forward and up on the tank. I bought a Street Bob seat off e-bay, sent it in to&nbsp\\;a local trim shop and produced a miracle. Now my Street Bob seat is custom and fits my *** much better. Not to mention it now pushes me back maybe&nbsp\\;2 inches and sits me even lower on the bike. I had the guy dish out, cup and lower the back portion of this seat, now it's a tricked out leather covered HD Bobber seat that is a keeper.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

&nbsp\\;Do you have a good picture of that seat, Blockhead?&nbsp\\; Either handy or posted someplace else on the site?&nbsp\\; I like the look of my FXDC seat, but after an hour or so, its a bit rough and I am starting to consider a change.

In regards to Mid Controls..... let me say this.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;I have mid controls on my Low Rider,&nbsp\\;( my legs are so short I cant reach forward controls even with a reach seat installed).....and last year, was in SHEAR AGONY THE ENTIRE SEASON.&nbsp\\; I couldnt find a comfortable foot or heel position.&nbsp\\;After every ride, I had to get burned heel rubber off my pipes, and far too many times I caught myself&nbsp\\;resting my foot on the brake pedal for comfort.&nbsp\\;Over the winter, I&nbsp\\;decided to install Kury Dually pegs with the stirrups (heel rest) and the matching shifter peg, and I cant tell you how much that changed my entire&nbsp\\;riding experience. My&nbsp\\;feet, legs&nbsp\\;and "seat" are now in complete harmony. Nothing falls asleep or goes numb, and&nbsp\\;I'm&nbsp\\;no longer shifting positions during a ride, burning rubber off my right heel or resting it on the brake. What a HUGE DIFFERENCE those wide pegs made. It was the best $160 I ever spent. So&nbsp\\;IMO, STOCK, SKINNY&nbsp\\;MID CONTROL pegs are not something you'd want to AVOID at all costs.

Take a look at Kuryakyn's Longhorns. Got the same issue, even worse since I installed the Kuryakyn Stilletos with the stirrups (pushs the footpegs out another 1 1/4"). I'm going to call them on Monday but will likely have to order their part #s 8044 &amp\\; 8021, which fixes the brake pedal as well.

H-D needs to make the levers come outward about 1" - 1 1/2" or at least have an optional add-on set of levers that do it.

No I don't, but let me try to get some up tomorrow for you. I'll get it from a few different angles. The main problem I was having with that seat, was at the very back where it comes up on your butt. Just after a few minutes of riding, your shifting and moving to get comfy. It was putting to much pressure on the upper portion of my butt crack!!! Problem now solved!!! The guy who did the work had a custom bike shop and rides himself, so we were on the same page. At first he wanted to much $$ IMO to rework the seat, I figured if he wanted that much, for a few bucks more, I was ready to try a CC Gel. We talked and ended up trading work! Worked out great!
