Great posts by all... I love my bob but have nothing to compare it to yet. \\;\\\\\\; Any idea why the price difference though?
 \\;
I think the price difference just had to do with sales. \\; When I first came to this site, it seemed everyone, besides a few, had a streetbob, lowrider, or standard fxd. \\; Since the price drop, I have seen more and more new FXDC's on this site. \\; So, whatever the reason for the Moco, it seems to have worked. \\; I guess the FXDC price was too close to other models and people were going for the other models more often than not. \\; They certainly didn't change the bike, just the price.

the silver engine is my bet.... seems to me that is probably the greatest deterent to this bike...
they dropped the softail standard with the silver motor for 08... wonder if they will do the same for the dyna for 09...
from a business perspective I think it is probably more profitable for them to standardize as much as possible...
kinda like doing away with the wide glide and having all dyna frames be the same dimension and rake...

Wouldn't it have been easier to put black engines in the super glides if this were the case. \\; It's just a different color powder coat. \\; I find it hard to believe the cost would be much if any different just because of the color. \\; The silver engine may be what keeps some people from buying it but I doubt it would dictate a price reduction. \\; I have nothing against the black motors but I happen to like my silver motor.
I like black and chrome. But I like silver and chrome. Depends on the style of the bike. Blacked out Bobs are cool. But a Bob with chrome engine treatments looks just as good. I just hate the polished stuff on the Bob. Why HD Why? Put chrome or black rocker covers on please. I think the Custom looks great with the silver engine and chrome with a sharp brite color paint job. The Bob is best with a deap rich dark color with the blacked out motor. So to each his own opinion. I think HD should have options like a car. Pick and choose at the dealership and they switch out parts at no cost like seats and sheet metal. Yea its a dream I know.
I went in 3 weeks ago to buy a FXDB and Rode out the next day on a FXDC. The Fat Bob is every bit as good of a bike actually I think it handles a tad better, Its just the SuperGlide Custom has a Timeless look to me .
Umm the FXDB is a Street Bob not a Fat Bob.
 \\;
The Custom is indeed nice but it just ain't got the looks or the attitude \\;of the Street Bob.
