I noticed that the FXDC is a little cheaper that the bob. \\;Has anyone owned or driven both and can give me their impression...or explain the major difference. \\;I have recently seen some smoken hot FXDC's! lately and really like the look.

Thanks to all

fxdc has 1 in more clearance, and doesn't have the blacked out motor and cases. handlebars, and rims too. if you don't like the streetbob and the super-glide is a little too plain look at the dyna-classic. great price and has a lot of extr's for the money.
Thanks Pitdog...I also \\;just did a search for this info and spent the last hour reading about different opinions. \\; They are \\;nice looking bikes as is the streeet bob.

I would steer clear of the flat gray cases. Water spots left on the motor are very difficult to remove if not impossible. I would recommend paying a little extra and getting the blacked out motor.
there is one each in my garage right now, fxdc is my buddy's. \\; fxdc is a 105th bike. \\; they are nice bikes and are all most apples and oranges to compare. \\; they are the same model but to people who know little about bikes they have a totally different look. \\; your going to spend about 3 times longer cleaning the fxdc, damn chrome... \\;

Both are great bikes I have no water spot issues on gray motor. the Bob is one look the custom is another I have had a chance to ride both they do handle different but both have same power the FXDC IMO is a \\;little better for 2 up and comes with all the passenger pegs etc But the Bob is a sweet ride as well. Only you can decide what model suits you better \\; \\; \\;
In my experience (having ridden both and owning the FXDC), the FXDC is a perfect platform for someone who wants to build a baby bagger for two-up cruising with a big windshield and detachable/hard bags or a if one prefers ... a relatively light-weight \\;toe-dragging corner hugger (ok .. a slow one  \\ with a cafe fairing, or ... even a tavern-to-tavern profiler with a semi-chopped bobtail-fendered Wide Glide look. \\; It is a perfect blank slate and you can take it in many different directions. \\; A do-it-all scoot.
 \\;
The Fat Bob seems to me to be geared more towards weekend bar crusing. \\; I'm sure it can be a decent long-range cruiser, too. \\; But it would take a little work and $ to set it up, imho.
 \\;
I like both ... for different reasons.
my silver engine on my 05 looks brand new. no spots problem ...
the new 07-08 FXDC has a fat bob tank instead of the lowrider style tank...
I really like the streetbob and wanted one...(I had a certain cash budget for my bike and could not find any inexpensive enough at the time)....of course now they are to be had and at the price I needed a year ago...damn....
I own an 08fxdc and absolutely love it. I ave not yet had the water spotting problem but mine is only about 4months new. I agree with the previous posts in that they are both great looking and riding bikes but different styles. In my opinion the stock fxdb has a more I'm a bad *** look to it where the fxdc is more of a laydback cruiser look. Either way they are both sweet bikes. To each his own. I wouldnt trade but I would like a bob in addition to the super glide.
I'm not sure where the water spot issue comes in at. \\; Only time I've had any is when I rode in the rain (motor hot) and had no problem cleaning them off with S100.

These 2 bikes are so the same and yet so different. \\; Mostly cosmetics, though. \\; The FXDB is a little lower but that's nothing a new pair of shocks won't change. \\; The Bob is mostly blacked out where the Custom has chrome sprinkled everywhere. \\; The handlebars are different. \\; The bob comes setup from the factory as a solo bike and the custom is setup for 2-up. \\; Most accessories are interchangeable between the two. \\; I love both bikes and have seen some great customizations of both. \\; When I bought mine, they cost over a thousand dollars more than they do now. \\; If price is the deciding factor, the FXDC for the money can't be beat in my opinion.
