hey everybody i have a question about the front end on my bike.i have an 07 super glide.when i am seating on the bike and i striaghting the front end my handelbars look and feel like they are off centerd and vice versa if i adjust my handelbars to where they feel and look level then my front end looks like its pointing to one side. i have yet to do the 1000 mile steering head bearing adjustment will that fix the problem or would this be cause for something else also have read a few post about needing to grease the bearing at the 1000 mile mark is that right
I had a similar problem
 \\;
I notices my bars in relation to my forks where off. \\; ie when i sat on the bike and looked at the bars crossing the top of my forks one side crossed in the center and one crossed below center.
 \\;
I simply lossened the side that was low pilled it forward hard and tigtened and all was good. \\; I know it seems like it shouldnt happen but it did. \\; it was only off maybe a 1/16 of an inch but I could see it driving down the road.
 \\;
i would check this
....had similar prob......dealership removed and found incorrect torque on the riser bushings....
..we always pull the bars to the rt \\;when we get on to ride.. i'm thinking that added  \\;to my problem...
.......BINNY \\;
Actually, and surprisingly, this is pretty normal I had the same problem and when at the dealership I looked at all the bikes in the showroom and 90% had their bars cocked to the side when compared to the wheel/fender, some a bit less than others. An indy shop owner gave me the easy fix to try: loosen riser clamps just enough so bars begin to move, shove the bars into the correct position with wheel on full lock to that side, then tighten clamp bolts to spec alternating side to side. Worked like a charm and took maybe 5 minutes. Helps to have another set of hands though!
can also replace the bushings for better ones that do not cause this problem...urethane or something another like that...
Actually, it was when I changed out my risers and replaced rubber bushings with polyurethane that I first noticed the problem, so it didn't solve the problem but created it! Don't think it has to do with bushings, in any case. More likely sloppy installation at the factory (and in my garage - LOL!).
