I installed my rush slipons and when I got em they were very loose around the header pipe... It takes some serious cranking on the clamps to compress them to insure they are tight on there(you do need to apply about max torque value to clamp em down)... once compressed no problem to just tighten down to the recommended torque... My thoughts are the wrench who put em on did not clamp em down tight enough initially and they really never were secure on there....or quite possibly.....
I noticed the clamp needs to be in just the right place on the end of the slipon... if the clamp is located too far up onto the slipon (by just a few mm even) you can torque the clamp down but the slipons will NOT be tight on the header.
I can't believe they actually fell off. Each one not only has a clamp but two bolts and nuts. I have had mine on for 3k and have checked them for tightness, never came loose once....Guess I better go check them again!

I guess you could go a couple hundred miles w/o but I'd take it easy.
Thanks to all who responded. Drove the mufflers over to the dealership at lunch and then rode the bike over after work. The dealership wasn't concerned about riding the bike without mufflers and they had them back on in minutes. I'll be sure to check the clamps in the future.
Yikes, I just ordered Rush slip-ons today. I'll double check my nuts after install.
May not have any, haven't told the wife about my purchase. Damn bike keeps getting
me in trouble.

just make sure when you install the NEW clamps not to slide them onto the slipon too much... they should be even with the end of the slipon to ever so slightly overhanging the end. too far and you'll crank that clamp down to torque specs and the slipon will not be tight. I highly recommend a breaker bar to make tightening these things down easy..
I have a serpentine belt tool for the car that works awesome as a breaker bar....
maybe also get some high temp sealant for the install as well to help insure against leaks...
