I have a silhouette I just took off my bike before the trade. \\;\\\\\\; It is like new. \\;\\\\\\; Let me know if interested. \\;\\\\\\; The only difference between the two seats is the stitching.
In my experience, it is surprisingly at least as comfortable as the stock dyna solos and looks much better. \\; It's not a touring seat and not marketed as a touring seat. \\; After about 45 minutes to an hour of riding, I'm ready to stand up for a few minutes before I can comfortable get going again. \\; I don't have the gel version but I'm not sure it would make a huge difference given the thickness of the seat. \\; The riding position it puts me in can't be matched by anything else though - I really like it. \\; But for long trips, I'd definitely use a different seat.
I like the look and riding position that the LePera gives me over the HD Brawler Solo that I had on my bike. \\; The Brawler sits too tall and pushes me about 1-2 inches too far forward. \\; I found myself sitting on the back edge of the seat. \\; Like everyone else has stated, the Barebones is not a long distance rider. \\; For that comfort, I'll use the stock Low Rider seat that I bought for my wife (yes, she didn't like the lack of comfort with the Sidekick Custom...and to think it all started because I bought her a backrest...that wasn't good enough...lol).
Well if its at least close to as comfortable to me as stock then I will be very happy.
 \\;
Most my riding is local along with day trips of about 300 miles total with frequent stops so should be good.
To \\;me its the same comfort as my stock seat. I'd be interested to know the weight of the guys that say they can ride all day on it. I have the Barebones with the Gel insert and after about an hour I've had it. I'm 235lbs...
