New derby, gasket question...

New derby, gasket question...
Installed a new derby cover \\;with a brand new gasket (the black mousemat) on my Bob -07.
It said "this side to clutch"... \\;the thing is
I THINK i put i right, was stressed, my girlfriend was around making noice, and I \\;now when I went to bed I´m not convinced that \\;I got it right... \\;99% sure...not good enough.

1. Can I remove the derby just to double check, put it back without a buing a new gasket again?
2. If it´s wrong, what could happen? Leak?

yes it will just leak a bit, you will be fine... you can pull it off and double check it, just slide a 2x4 under the stand to make it stand up strait and pull it off, then toss back on some loc tite and your golden... man relax brother, i made my derby cover! it has no groves, i cut my own gasket and have had the same one now for 2 years! works great... all you ahve to do is run your fingers along the underside by the primay (under the derby) and feel for moisture.
