I just got my Streetbob back from the dealer and had the 5K service done. Now I am having a problem turning the key to the on/off/and lock position. Is there something the dealer does to the neck of the bike during the service that could be causing this? Is this anything to really worry about, or should I learn to live with it?
if its difficult to use, and its different from before, i would take it back. cant think what it could be,but i have heard of people having problems with the key/lock.
Thats what I love about the WG, you dont even need the key. You can lock the dash ignition, or the forks, but the key stays in your pocket while rideing. I dont thinkI have even stuck the key in the fork lock more than twice since I have owned it.
Could be that you push it in to go from unlock to ignition but not to go from lock to unlock. If you push it in to go from lock to unlock, it does give some trouble.
Yeah, so did I. Difficult to rotate the key, especially to the steering lock position. Sometimes spent 20-30 seconds fiddling with it before success. However, when I got my Bob back from the 1k service all was working smoothly for the first time. Sweet. I had similar problems with my Sporty - so much so that the key wore abnormaly - eventually falling out while on a ride out. Now that was a bitch of a discovery over 100 miles from home. Nearly out of gas. A bad, bad day.

You may find that it's beneficial to press the key in while turning it either way.
had the same problem this is what u need to do.turn the kill switch off get a can of wd 40 shoot wd40 into the switch work it back andforth several times it will work great then.the problem is it is a junk switch water collects in it.also wont dont anything for the key falling out but the switch will definately act like a new one
