I read a lot of posts here about doing 80 and 90 miles an hour. \\; You know...the ride hard....ride long. \\; I have found that:
A. \\; I hate the freeway
B. \\; I prefer 55 to 65 MPH
C. \\; I do everything I can do to find the "backway"
D. \\; I do not enjoy the "death grip" required when doing high speeds
Running around 55 to 60 is my favorite riding with a little speed up on the curves.
 \\;
Ive put 2300 miles on mine in about 6 weeks and probally dont have 50 miles of interstate riding. I know a back way to anywhere I need to go.
 \\;
I'm with you. I have 5100 miles on my ride. Probably 20 of those are on the interstate. Same was true with my prior 2 Honda's.
My MSF instructor said, "if it ain't fun, don't do it!"
Funny, MOST of my miles are highway because I have no choice going to work, but weekend rides are slower because I do it to relax. Nothing relaxing about jostling around with a bunch of cages at 70mph during rush hour...!
When on the highway around here you need speeds of 75 just to keep up. \\; Back roads, I find 65-70 MPH a comfortable range. \\; I can still smell the surroundings.
 \\;
Respects,
Ed
