Why does everyone who rides a Harley think they need a **** helmet, a half helmet from the fifties, a plastic yamica or a pudding bowl? what's wrong with getting a real full face helmet that actually works.

I'm not imune to this phenomena, through the 70s and eighties I wore open face half helmets, aviator caps and even have one of those non DOT skid lids hanging around the garage somewhere.But when I was stationed in Germany and really had to ride year round there is just no other way to go than a full face with a shield.

Why do these threads always end up with someone pushing their "i always wear a full face helmet and you should too" ideology? I live in SC and here we have freedom of choice as long as youre over 21. I choose to not wear a helmet. When I cross state lines, I wear my lid. I ride. I decide.

I've customized the liner of 3 different helmets. \\; The most recent one I just took enough out to make it fit perfect and really didn't affect the thickness of the liner at all. \\; It saved my head in a recent crash too.
