Is there any fuel additive that will assist in reducing pinging? My dealer says that there is no way to reduce it with the current maps available unless I want to spend $ on processor, intake and pipes.

Also, is there a negative effect that might come with just backing off the timing?

what does your bike have done to it? if it does not have pipes, intake or any of that there shoudl be no ping at all on a stock bike!

If you are using premium gas, tell your dealer to fix it. Under warranty.
Intake and pipes will fix what? Make him explain it. He can't.

&nbsp\\;I'm with those guys ^_^ pinging and poping are an issue after exhaust / intake upgrades. Your dealer&nbsp\\;must be&nbsp\\;on marajuana derredatives!

Would there be any side effects to pulling back on the timing? What about additives in case I'm stuck in a "fix it" "we can't" battle?

I don't thin you can pull back the timing on a&nbsp\\;EFI machine. it's computerized! And the moco will always fix your scoot if sumpm isn't right.
