Default BIG BORE ??

What is the most reliable and cost effective kit to buy?The 103 or other kit options.I heard you should weld the fly wheel regardless.I am looking for good torque and reliabilty. thx This would be for an 08 Bob

You might want to look at having your heads reworked or replaced. You will make more power with that modification rather than just an increase in size. Hope this helps...

I'm just curious so excuse my ignorance, but what does welding the flywheels do for you? Why would you split the cases and not stroke it ?

I didn't go for any kit.&nbsp\\; Just had the cylinders bored and installed pistons and 211 cams.&nbsp\\; 101 ftlbs Torque and 94 HP.&nbsp\\; Good enough for a baby build.&nbsp\\; Runs as strong as I want it to for now.

Not sure either, I read here on the fourm that when you hot rod the 96" the fly wheel can malfunction under stress and apparently some Indys suggest welding it for extra strength.

Welding stops the flywheels from scisoring and getting too much run out which won't allow gear driven cams, which is what I understand when mine was welded.&nbsp\\; As the 08 is already stroked all you would have to worry about is the scisoring, if you plan on beating it up!
