Thinking about doing some motor work done over the winter to my 05 Wide Glide. I am having a hard time on which way to go here. Just wanted to find out some difference of opinions.
Thanks
If my ever faulty memory doesn't fail me, on a stock TC 88, the 95" is a total top end build, a 103" is a stroker that will involved the lower end modifications. You can still get a huge performance gain which may be a little more reliable in the long run than a stroker for a very reasonable cost. It's your choice.
check out the edelbrock site . they have a 95' that has a hell of alot more power than a SE kit . Their kit makes between 105 - 110 on the torq and 105 - 110 hp . Thinking about doing this kit myself . Check it out and compare it to a HD kit and let me know what ya think
I dont know about the 103 but look below at what I did to my Bob. It performs unbelievably! It is really more than I need (not that it has ever been about need) . Truthfully, it is actually difficult to ride slowly. 1/4 inch turn on the throttle and I am going 60 (no lie). I am thrilled with this upgrade and I leave all of my friends in the dust no matter what they ride. They are all amazed. I have the compression release heads to relieve the pressure and save me problems in the future.
First off, sweet ride. 2nd, I'd look into the 98" kit from GMR on here. With all of the work, it makes around 100/100 around what a 103 would make. I was planning on doing this winter but bonus was weak, so it'll have to be put off until next year.
To tell you honestly, I don't remember. I think I blanked it out of my mind! I'm pretty sure, off the top of my head that my engine upgrades were close to $3,500 and the V&H pipes, with labor were around $1,400. So I think I topped 5K or $5, 500. (ouch) But......I wanted it!

what are some of the prices on these kits you guys are talking about ?
I looked at the Edelbrock site and that looked very impressive.
The local HD Dealer said that the 95 upgrade with the cams would be around $3200 labor included. I was then thinking of going with the diamond cut heads for an additional $600.
HD= Hundreds of Dollars......but they are fun to ride
