I've had unacceptable buffeting on any bike with a windshield that I've ridden including baggers and full fairing metrics. \\; I must \\; be sensitive to it but for me, no windshield is the only way to go. \\; Clean windblast from a bike without a windshield can be annoying but you get used to it and it's not as bad as buffeting. \\; A seat with a lip for back support helps alot.

I really hope you are right!!!! thats what I have decided i am going to do (back rest)
MASCMAN:
I like what you have done to your seat! I have attached the seat I have ordered, its a mustang solo seat with driver back rest, plan on getting the matching passenger pad when finances allow man these are pricey mine cost me 500.00 for the driver seat and will be another 200.00 for the passenger. I hope they are worth it (I am sure they not really worried about it)
I have a detachable on my 06 S/b and I had a problem like yours until I played with the up and down adjustment. I also put a windshield bag on it and it has helped tremendous. I can ride at 70 to 80 all day and it is fine. I have mine adjusted to where the wind just barely hits the top of my helmet going over me. The bag that I have is one that is ten inches across, this possibly helps bock the wind. I ride in from an open country area everyday and no big problems. Do you live in a place that the wind blows alot. Good luck with get the problem fixed. The Harley Cooperation could find a fix if they so desired on all the bikes.

Glad you got the issue taken care of! Now what type of W/S do you have? I have the king sized quick detachable, can that one be adjusted?
So you are basically looking through your shield if I understand you correctly?
took me a week of screwing around you will always have some buffeting from any shield but if you play around with the hieght adjustment on forks you will get it down to a min I also put a bag on mine this seemed to help as well
Called the dealer and they said that mine cant be lowered or raised, they did say that a taller one may help but dont have the cash for that so I will just deal with it for now.
Agree with earlier comments about making ws more vertical. Moves the air up higher and over your head. Top of mine is about even with my nose so i can easily see over the ws. Are you using a full helmet? I don't notice any buffeting with my half helmet, but do get a small amount with the full helmet.

Using a full but I still get knocked around with the half helmet as well. They are both the same when it comes to buffeting. Read that my new seat will more then likely lift me another 2 inches higher then stock so that will be interesting to see what happens. Seat will be here tmrw so will know by then.
