Default Throwover saddlebags

Anyone using throwover saddlebags on their Dynas? I had been thinking about getting detachables, but as little as I am going to be using them, I thought a throwover would better suit my needs. I already have a T-bags system I mount to the detachable sissy bar that works good, but for long trips I want more storage. Thanx

I had throwover bags on my FXD for a very short time. To keep them from hitting sprocket and rotor was a real pain and it would have required fabricating some kind of support bracket. I finally got Easy brackets and mounted the bags to them. Works like a charm. Bags go on and off in seconds and the bike looks good with or without the bags on. No support hardware needed.

I was wondering if they came with any kind of hardware to keep them from flopping.

Thanks

Mike

I've got a set of throwovers that I've had on both my old Sporty & now on the Bob. Granted I don't run with them every day, but I have never had a problem with them getting into the sprocket or rotor. The bags are exactly phloppy, their phairly rigid, so the shock keeps them off the wheel and out of the brakes. The belt guard also helps keep them out of the business back there.

I was going to get the Dyna angled bags which I am guessing will sit just behind the shock. Sounds like they will work fine.

phrom what I have seen, they are behind the shocks. In that case you will need some sort of bracket.

The throwovers I use phit in phront of the rear turn signal, so there was no need to relocate them. Not 100% certain, but you may have to relocate the signals if you go that route.

I tried throwovers for a short time, but they scratched my ghain guard and the rotor rubbed a hole in one. I changed them out for a set of Sadlemen baks and easy brackets. Easier to get off and on then the throwovers and look great on or off. One complaint they rattle unless loaded down.

i would recommend detachable.pros n cons.(cons throw).first throw overs are a pain to install or remove quickly.you need a support bracket to keep them out of wheel, ugly if your not useing the bags.and the worst part they will rub your paint off your fender after awhile and scuff your struts @ shocks.pros(throws)cheaper.now for detach (pros)easy on off.no support brackets to see when not useing.they wont rub your paint off, more durable.sharper looking bag (holds form better).cons(detach)more expensive.i have had both and love the detachables.i bought mine on ebay for half the cost to(brand new).
