Default Screaming Eagle Exhaust

I'm going to look at a 2008 Street Bob this weekend. It's got around 4,200 miles on it and extras include: Sundowner Seat, Low Rider Back Support, Screaming Eagle Exhaust, Detachable Windshield, Highway Pegs, Passenger Pegs, and warranty for another year and a half or so. He's asking $13k firm. I hear a lot about V&H pipes on here but not too much about the SE's. I would appreciate your guys' opinions on the price and the pipes.

Default 08 Fat Bob

Hey Bro,

I have V&H short shots on mine with a race tuner and stage 1. It runs good, sounds great and looks pretty good too! But if you want something for cruising you should probably keep the screamin eaglr pipes. If you want to raise some hell, go with V&H they bark loud! Just one mans opinion.

NADA retail is $13,275 so i would say the price sounds fair. As for the pipes? I've heard them on other Dyna's and what not. They are a tad louder than OEM.......I think they have nice rumble to them. They won't **** off your neighbors. If you decide they are not what you are looking for hit me up and I will take them off your hands. V&H's are nice but your paying for the name. Slip-on's are Slip-on's. Have your dealer order you a set of Cycle Shack's if you need more volume. I got mine for under a buck 50 and they sound good and have good performance. I've got an 07 SB which is going to get traded on an 08 FXDC which will have the nasty OEM pipes on it. Good luck on the street bob you'll love it.

Default Power Valve

Three things to remember when thinking about "lowly" slipons. They do not discard your oxygen sensors whick make your fuel system self adjusting for load, altitude and exhaust and intake changes. They do not discard the stock power exhaust valve which enhanses both low end torque and high rpm HP. They cost cheaper so you have more money for other mods.

Just added the SE slip-ons to my SG and they sound better than stock but are still pretty quiet.

Then i think the person is asking a little too much--mods or no! I saw an 07 lowrider on craigslist . Some gal in Montreal. I'll get back if I find her add again. http://montreal.en.craigslist.ca/mcy/780059456.html

NADA for an 07 is $11,485 for a stock bike. Add in what you feel the add-on's are worth to "YOU" and make an offer. My dealer is offering me $10K on trade for my 07 SB with a similar setup. He'll prob get $12-$13 for it.......maybe not. Just ask yourself what the bike is worth to you and go from there.

yeah i would say that price is a little high... its peak season, so he is asking more. he also may be asking more to cover his payoff... thats not your problem. the market dictates the bikes worth... not payoffs and seasons!

SE slipons can be modified by simply removing the baffles and discarding the fibre packing and reinstalling the baffles. This results in a nice deep tone without being too loud and you will not have to worry about tickets.
