That looks good! I've considered it... but right now the bike is my only wheels, so what little cash I can put into it went for rain gear, a tour bag, a ton of bungee cords, and hopefully soon a better seat. I also got a full face Icon moto helmet for work in the rain. It was cheaper that a windshield and IMHO looks a little less gay. J/K to all you guys with screens.
Haircut, I was going to suggest the same as Joe and take a look. Same thing happened to me where the old lever dropped down and stopped her from downshifting, kinda sucks when your in 6th and stuck on the highway. Easy fix though. This was with the Kury forwards.
Yeah, too upside down on the bike loan to trade. I'm glad. I still want a naked sportbike like a monster or triumph street tripple, and a street glide for the trips... but my dyna rocks!
My problem was that I used the wrong set screw (too short) to secure the chrome cap and rubber spacer that covers and holds the old shifter lever linkage to the back of the primary. I found a longer set screw that came in the Kury kit which seats in the groove next to the splines of the shaft and holds it very securely now. Kind of hard to describe.

I got the HD forwards used from a forum member so I don't have those retaining screws. I will just figure something out.
Oh OK you have the HD's. I know on my buddy's 04 FXDL with the HD forwards he has a clip that holds the old lever and is bolted to the bottom of the front jug. if you cant find that clip you could probably wire it to that same bolt.
man if you are intrested in a naked sport bike... when funds ease up for you a bit... why not build a CB750 cafe racer! they are awesome bikes! my favorite to be honest!
My previous ride, I had trouble getting into first as I was ending my ride. I chalked it up to being lazy and not pushing hard enough. Well, I should have known that wasn't it.
So today, I start her up and get right onto i90. About 10 miles out of the city I hit a bit of traffic and go to downshift, I get down to 2nd and that's it. The shifter wasn't solid...it kinda gave a little, rubbery. After playing with it a bit I wasn't able to hit 2nd anymore. So I pulled over. Luckily the traffic was only going 20-25 mph by me.
While I was stopped and the engine was off, I could only go 4th through 6th. Some dude stopped in a van and helped me push it forward and back and that seemed to temporarily help. I was able to turn around and make it home.
Before I parked, I tried going up and down the gears and sure enough, couldn't get back to 1st before I turned it off to come up and ask you guys (and girls).
I'll check for a rock later. My mid shifter is still zip tied on the bar fine.
