5000 Mile Service
I was told by the dealer that it was just fluids and 2 hours labor. Im getting really cheap as I get older and have decided I want to do it myself. Is this correct, oil and tran fluids? New filter etc. Any input appreciated. Any good thread? Tried search but ended up with a bunch of unrelated threads. Just looking for the basics of what I need to buy and any crucial need to know tips. Thanks

What kind of bike? If you have wire wheels the spokes need to be checked for tightness. Take your time and go around the bike with wrenches and sockets and check the tightness of all the misc. nuts and bolts. You don't need to use a torque wrench, just check them and make sure none are loose. Check brake fluid front and rear and check brake pads for wear. Air pressure in tires. Condition of tires. Fork stem nut might need tightened. Air filter. Clutch cable adjustment. Polish really well and ride.

So you need to change AND re. the clutch
Sheep, regarding the clutch, 07 Sb by the way.....when I pull in the clutch lever I get a small squeek(scritchy sound), what is this? So I'm clear- Need to besides change the motor and tran fluid, change the oil and air filters? Are there any gaskets on the drain plugs? Can you add a diff kind of brake fluid to existing fluid in system? Lastly re. the spokes, if they ae loose, would that be just loose to the touch and just tighten.....how much? Thanks for the help.
