Default Front Wheel

I have searched other threads and can't find a clear answer to this. Is the front wheel on my 02 FXD supposed to be center of the forks? I recently bought used factory cast wheels from an indy to replace the spokes. He also mounted the tires/wheels. There is a 1/4" of tire showing on the right side and I know it was not like that with the spokes(Same size tire). Indy says it's normal for the cast wheels to be that way. Anyone know if that is true?

Wow, is it centered on the fender? Without knowing the true answer I would think it should be centered on the forks because the fender should be centered on the forks and you would want the tire centered on them both. Lets see what some of the experts say.

No, its about a 1/4" closer to the right side. The thing is, the bolt heads on the rotor, which is on the left side just barely clear the fork.

The wheel should be centered under the fender. Your indy is lying to you.

Are your spacers on the wrong sides of the wheel? one spacer is longer than the other. How is you rotor lining up in the caliper? Something isn't right if it truly is a factory wheel. The pic in your posts doesn't look like a factory wheel unless you had it powder coated.

Are they buttonheads on the rotor, they shouldn't be much more than about 1/8" higher than the rotor itself...

Yes, I had them powder coated. As far as the right spacers, I've looked at the detail in the service manual and can't really tell if he used the correct ones.

Take it back to the indy and look at his other bikes then ask him why yours is the only one like that.

I would think that it being that way would make the bike "track" going down the road, sort of like an old 4x4 where the rear tires are off to one side or the other looking at it from behind. I would not be happy if it was mine. get another indy or Stealer look at it and see what they see wrong with it.

The 2 spacers on the front are different sizes. Your repair manual should tell you that. Theres not much difference in them but they must be on correctly. The only way to tell for sure is to take the front wheel off and check them out.
