Now that I have your attention. How hard is it to change the Derby cover, and the Timer cover? Turned 50 last week and that is what my kids bought me for the big day.

as hard as unscrewing the bolts changing out and tightening back up...

If you replace the Derby cover make sure you get a gasket to fit it. Most replacements do not use the o ring style they use old style No prob as long as you get the gasket make sure the bike is level when changing derby so you dont loose primary oil

I would suggest a small block under the jiffy stand when doing the Derby cover just to make sure you dont lose any fluid.

It should also be noted that the T27 bolts on the derby cover are gorilla tight. Use a good socket (and maybe an impact driver as well). There are lots of people in this forum who have stripped the heads of those cheesy bolts or snapped the heads off of the socket (I destroyed three - two were Made in China crap and the third was a Craftsman).
